How to use GMail to send mail?
#1
Hi guys,

I have a little question.

How do we use our Google powered EMail account to send mail?

I tried using following details.
HOST: smtp.gmail.com
Username and password are same as my logins.
I changed the port to 587 from the smtp.php in the Mail directory in includes dir.

But when I go to send a EMail it says, "Server didn't respond."
Why is that? Got any idea?

Thanks.

An old thread, but it's worth noting this is now possible (I've tested it with Gmail) with the new configuration options introduced in r273.
