Time between posting and account creation
#1
Hello,
Is it possible to have a period of time between verifying member posts and account creation..

To prevent people from spamming and immediatly requesting a hosting account

Unfortunately, this feature isn't available in 1.1.2 or in the upcoming 1.2. However, we do plan to implement this type of feature in an upcoming release.

Until then, you can manually approve account creations as a workaround.

what would be the need for the script them Big Grin isnt it meant to automate things :d
#4
the script still manually creates the accounts and checks that the posts are made, you just click a button that says "approve".

There IS a flaw, yes. If the user spams the forum with millions of pointless posts every month to pay for the hosting, you would have to terminate the THT account manually. Its not really possible to avoid this completely, there will always be someone which wants to spam and tamper with the p2h system.

It's a workaround. Not a feature. Smile

I think what this needs is a delay. Of at least two hours or so.

So if the post is made in the last two hours then it does not count.

That could be done, but every forum is different in the way it stores data. We might be able to check how old the account is though.

Depends on how we decide to do our versioning conventions. Tongue
